We'll always remember Max from his Sudbourne and Whippersnapper days. A mass of energy, a big smiler, and a total water baby at Brockwell Lido. He was a real Brixton boy, in the best sense. He'll be much missed. Lots of love to all Max's family and friends.

Dear Polly, Gerhard and Leo
It was truly shocking to hear of the tragic death of Max - we have been talking and thinking about you all since we heard and cannot begin to imagine the pain you must feel. Joe has fond memories of him and Leo playing with Max while on sleepovers at your house , in their younger days at Sudbourne. All our love and sympathy goes out to you in memory of your beautiful son and big brother.
Neil , Helen and Joe

I was Max's history teacher at The Charter School in year 12, and also his Director of Learing. He was a pleasure to teach, had a genuine interest in history, and loved the work we did on the Ruyssian Revolution and the Cold War. Max was immediatly likeable, settled into The Charter School really quickly and was such a fun loving happy person, able to have really mature conversations, and develop great rapport between himself and those he met. A real cheeky chappie, who will be sadly missed, not just by myself, but all the teachers at The Charter School who knew him, and the huge number of friends he made while he was here.

Dear Max's family

As a mother whose son is on an asia gap year trip with two close friends , my heart missed a beat when the news came through about the accident. When l saw the boys leaving luton? photo l was very touched and moved. There was a lovely energy and happiness in them and l just knew l was looking at some very very special souls. Just know they are being held in many many peoples hearts including mine, and l am planting some trees in their memory up on my hill
by my standing stone. By the way my kids have a double barreled surname. The product of two great families like you.
l pray the angels surround you with love and help to heal your hurt. Max will forever live in our memories and dreams and hearts. PS am sending cheque.

Maxi-Million-one-in-a-million B.C (frequently called across the classroom!) He was 97% joy, fun and laughter, 98% complete kindness, 97% humour - oh! my! those jokes! 99% mischief - oh! yes! The twinkle in the eye was what made him such fun to teach! 100% loving and kind hearted. He made a very lasting impression on me, he was a real credit to you all.
Polly, Gerhard and lovely Leo, my whole heart goes out to you.

Thanks so much Sophie, he was a real special lad and we are struggling to come to terms with it. It is good to know his death is being used for good things. xxxx

Dearest Polly, Gerhard and Leo,
I am so deeply sorry to have heard about your tragic loss of Max. I am one of his and Leo's old teachers from Sudbourne, back then I was Miss Parker. I have some lovely memories of a 10 year old Max playing cricket on a Friday afternoon with Tony Moody, being right at the centre of the Sudbourne pack. I am thinking of you all so much and send you all my love. Cate Mason directed me to Max's Foundation, how incredibly moving that you are collecting money towards both Tony's cricket and Whippersnappers, I have made a donation through my husband's paypal account. With fondest regards, Sophie.
