These inter-active Asian story telling sessions can be adapted to cater for nursery, infant and junior pupils and compliment the national curriculum. There is lots of mask work, dressing up and role play. We are also offering related educational workshops in lantern making, shadow puppetry and Classical Bengali dance.

The Ramayana
An ancient Indian epic telling the story of Lord Rama’s marriage to Sita, their exile to the jungle, the capture of Sita by Ravana the demon king of Lanka and how Rama wins her back with the help of all the animals and Hanuman the monkey god.

The retum of Rama and Sita to their home town is celebrated every year by the Hindi Festival of Light – Divali which occurs on the full moon of late October.

The Doves and the King
A story of two loving doves living in the jungle. A King comes hunting and captures the female dove. But the little male dove with the help of his drum, the ants and a large river saves his sweet heart from the Palace of the King.

Krishna Stories
Using narration, acting, mask work, dance and song we follow the life time stories of Lord Krishna. Commissioned by The Horniman Museum Aug 2008.
