About Whippersnappers Hever Project
In 2023, Whippersnappers hired a large field and woodland area in the stunning grounds of Hever Castle, Kent, to host a pop-up playscheme for children and young people with additional needs. The site was transformed into a safe, accessible, and inclusive space with fencing, portaloos, showers, bell tents, a Taj Mahal marquee, and gazebos. The area provided a wonderful setting for outdoor adventures, creative workshops, and communal activities—fostering connections with nature and one another.
This year, we’re going bigger and better!
From Tuesday 27th July to Wednesday 12th August, the site will host a range of activities and trips across three action-packed weeks, including:
- Day trips from our Specialist Short Breaks Playscheme
- A camping trip for HAF funded young people in Lambeth
- A Family Camping Trip for young people with additional needs
In addition, we’re hosting several public events on site.
All money raised will go directly towards funding the project—helping cover infrastructure costs and supporting our camping trips.

Arts & Crafts Station, Bubble show, Face painting, Family Drumming Sessions, Bell Tent Baby Music Sessions, Circus Skills, Live performances, Sports Games, Plus free play stations: sand play, water play, sensory assault course. Family Picnic Area & Chill Out Areas.

An Immersive Theatre Performance in the woods at Hever 🌳🧚♀️
Join us for an immersive Cornish adventure in the Wyld woods of Hever. Make a magic willow wand with the Fairies, enjoy live Pixie folk music, get a sprinkle of Fairy or Dragon dust, and take part in our immersive theatre production. Along the way you will meet a Pirate Joe Crow, Trixie Pixie, Forest Fairy, Sea Fairy & her friend Pearl the Mermaid.
This experience will last 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Bring a picnic and enjoy your lunch in a Big Front Field after the show. Tickets to our Fairy & Pixie Land includes free entry to our family fun day in the afternoon running until 3.30pm.

We are located opposite Polebrook Farm, Hever Rd, Hever, Edenbridge TN8 7NJ and have free Parking.
By Car: Use your navigation app and enter our address or coordinates (51.190421, 0.110602).

Our location is opposite the entrance to the Big Front Field.
Look for: A large sunflower and bunting on the gate.
Ask Hever Castle staff for directions to the Big Front Field. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
By Train: Nearest Station is Hever
You can take a train from London Bridge, Clapham Junction, or East Croydon.
Don’t forget to book your Shuttle bus ticket here and we’ll pick you up from the station.
